Passage:
Detective Sarah Collins had been working on the mysterious case of the missing diamond necklace for weeks. The necklace, worth millions of dollars, had been stolen from the famous actress, Victoria Anderson, during a glamorous party at her mansion. The police had interviewed all the guests and staff present at the party, but no one seemed to have any information about the theft.
Sarah decided to visit the crime scene once again to see if she had missed anything. As she walked through the mansion, she noticed a small, hidden door in the corner of the room. Curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to investigate further. She opened the door and found herself in a secret room filled with antique furniture and paintings.
Among the paintings, Sarah noticed one that seemed out of place. She carefully examined it and discovered a hidden compartment behind it. Inside the compartment, she found the missing diamond necklace. Sarah couldn’t believe her luck. She quickly called for backup and secured the necklace as evidence.
The next day, Sarah interrogated the guests and staff once again. This time, she focused on their alibis and whereabouts during the party. After hours of questioning, she finally found a witness who had seen a suspicious-looking man near the hidden door. The witness described the man as tall, wearing a black suit and a hat.
Sarah immediately knew who the thief was. She had seen a man fitting that description leaving the party that night. She rushed to his address and found him packing his bags. The man, named John, confessed to stealing the necklace. He had been a waiter at the party and had noticed the hidden door during his shift. He couldn’t resist the temptation and decided to steal the necklace.
