Assessment for Skip Counting Forward in 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s

Objective: The objective of this assessment is to determine if the student can skip count forward in 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s independently.

Instructions: The student will be given a series of questions where they need to fill in the missing numbers in the skip counting sequence. They should complete the task independently.

Assessment Questions:

  1. Skip count forward in 2’s: 2, __, 6, __, 10, __, 14, __, 18, __
  2. Skip count forward in 5’s: __, 10, __, 20, __, 30, __, 40, __, 50
  3. Skip count forward in 10’s: 10, __, 30, __, 50, __, 70, __, 90, __

Scoring:

  • If the student correctly fills in all the missing numbers in each skip counting sequence, they have achieved the objective and can skip count forward in 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s independently.
  • If the student makes one or two errors in filling in the missing numbers, they may need some additional practice but are close to achieving the objective.
  • If the student makes more than two errors or struggles to fill in the missing numbers, they may need further instruction and practice in skip counting.

Note: This assessment is aligned with the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) for approximately Primary 2/3 level.

Assessment for Skip Counting Forward in 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s

Objective: The objective of this assessment is to determine if the student can skip count forward in 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s independently, including larger numbers and more complex sequences.

Instructions: The student will be given a series of questions where they need to fill in the missing numbers in the skip counting sequence. They should complete the task independently.

Assessment Questions:

  1. Skip count forward in 2’s: 2, __, 6, __, 10, __, 14, __, 18, __, 22, __, 26, __, 30
  2. Skip count forward in 5’s: __, 15, __, 25, __, 35, __, 45, __, 55, __, 65, __, 75, __, 85, __, 95, __, 105
  3. Skip count forward in 10’s: 10, __, 30, __, 50, __, 70, __, 90, __, 110, __, 130, __, 150, __, 170, __, 190, __, 210

Scoring:

  • If the student correctly fills in all the missing numbers in each skip counting sequence, including the larger numbers and more complex sequences, they have achieved the objective and can skip count forward in 2’s, 5’s, and 10’s independently.
  • If the student makes one or two errors in filling in the missing numbers, including the larger numbers and more complex sequences, they may need some additional practice but are close to achieving the objective.
  • If the student makes more than two errors or struggles to fill in the missing numbers, including the larger numbers and more complex sequences, they may need further instruction and practice in skip counting.

Note: This assessment is aligned with the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) for approximately Primary 2/3 level, but includes more complex skip counting sequences to challenge the student.
