Extinction is a natural process. Let’s look at the dodo as an example. It wasn’t strong enough to survive, and that’s why it became extinct. When we ask people to name an extinct species, they often mention the dodo. However, the dodo disappeared four hundred years ago.
We are told that animals struggle to survive when they lose their natural habitats. But animals and plants can adapt to new environments. For instance, foxes have learned to live in cities, camels and cactus plants can survive in the desert, and polar bears live in the Arctic. Sometimes, we see on TV that the ice is melting and polar bears are having a tough time surviving. They warn us about the dangers of oil and gas exploration destroying their habitat. However, there is no reason why we can’t use the Arctic for oil and gas while still leaving enough space for bears. Those who oppose this are simply against big businesses. They want to prevent hardworking people like us from providing oil and gas for the world. The Arctic is a vast area, with plenty of room for both humans and animals.
Some people also claim that we are responsible for climate change. However, they forget that climate change has been occurring for millions of years. It is true that the Earth is getting warmer, but we just need to adapt to it.
