Position: Pediatrician Department: Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Reports to: Medical Director
Job Summary: The Pediatrician is responsible for providing specialized medical care to infants, children, and adolescents in a Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospital. They diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric conditions, monitor growth and development, and provide guidance to parents and caregivers. The Pediatrician works closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care for pediatric patients.
Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses in infants, children, and adolescents. 2. Conduct physical examinations, evaluate medical histories, and order diagnostic tests as necessary. 3. Develop and implement treatment plans, including prescribing medications and therapies. 4. Monitor growth and development of pediatric patients, identifying any abnormalities or delays. 5. Provide counseling and guidance to parents and caregivers on child health, nutrition, and development. 6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as nurses, nutritionists, and social workers, to provide comprehensive care. 7. Coordinate and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and treatment plans. 8. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in pediatric medicine and incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care. 9. Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients. 10. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety and quality of care. 11. Participate in continuing medical education activities to enhance professional knowledge and skills. 12. Provide guidance and supervision to medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals as required. 13. Collaborate with community organizations and schools to promote child health and wellness. 14. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction. 15. Adhere to ethical and legal standards of medical practice.
Qualifications and Experience: 1. Medical degree (MD or equivalent) from an accredited medical school. 2. Completion of a residency program in Pediatrics. 3. Board certification in Pediatrics. 4. Valid medical license to practice as a Pediatrician. 5. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pediatric medicine, preferably in a hospital setting. 6. Strong knowledge of pediatric diseases, conditions, and treatments. 7. Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills. 8. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, parents, and healthcare professionals. 9. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. 10. Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technologies.
