Job Description: IT Support Staff in Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospitals

Position: IT Support Staff Department: Information Technology Reports to: IT Manager

Job Summary: The IT Support Staff in Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospitals is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to ensure the smooth operation of the hospital’s computer systems, software, and hardware. They will assist in maintaining the hospital’s network infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing training to staff members on IT-related matters.

Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Provide technical support to hospital staff for computer systems, software, and hardware issues. 2. Install, configure, and maintain computer systems, printers, and other peripheral devices. 3. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and resolve them in a timely manner. 4. Assist in the maintenance and administration of the hospital’s network infrastructure, including servers, switches, and routers. 5. Collaborate with the IT Manager to develop and implement IT policies and procedures. 6. Conduct regular backups of critical data and ensure data security and integrity. 7. Assist in the procurement and installation of new IT equipment and software. 8. Train hospital staff on the proper use of computer systems, software applications, and other IT-related tools. 9. Stay updated with the latest advancements in IT technology and recommend improvements to enhance the hospital’s IT infrastructure. 10. Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and software licenses. 11. Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to resolve technical issues and ensure the smooth operation of IT systems. 12. Document IT-related procedures, troubleshooting steps, and user manuals for reference purposes.

Qualifications and Experience: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 2. Proven work experience as an IT Support Staff or similar role in a healthcare setting is preferred. 3. Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and software applications. 4. Proficient in troubleshooting hardware and software issues. 5. Familiarity with healthcare-specific software and systems is a plus. 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with hospital staff. 7. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 8. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 9. Knowledge of data backup and recovery procedures. 10. Certification in relevant IT fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) is desirable.
