Job Description: Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospital Nurse

Position Summary: The Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospital Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to mothers and children in a hospital setting. They will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and support to patients. The nurse will utilize their educational background and work experience to provide specialized care to meet the unique needs of mothers and children.

Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Provide direct patient care to mothers and children, including prenatal, postnatal, and pediatric care. 2. Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement nursing interventions based on individual patient needs. 3. Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide wound care as required. 4. Assist with labor and delivery, including monitoring fetal heart rate, providing pain management, and assisting with the delivery process. 5. Educate patients and their families on various aspects of maternal and child health, including breastfeeding, infant care, and postpartum recovery. 6. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as doctors, midwives, and social workers, to ensure coordinated and holistic care. 7. Document patient information accurately and maintain up-to-date medical records. 8. Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes, making necessary adjustments to the care plan as needed. 9. Provide emotional support and counseling to patients and their families during challenging times. 10. Stay updated on the latest advancements in maternal and child health care through continuous education and professional development.

Qualifications: 1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent. 2. Licensure: Valid nursing license in the respective jurisdiction. 3. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in maternal and child health care, preferably in a hospital setting. 4. Specialized Skills: Knowledge of obstetric and pediatric nursing practices, ability to handle medical emergencies, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in medical documentation.
