Job Description: Housekeeping Staff in Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospitals

Position: Housekeeping Staff Department: Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospitals Reports to: Housekeeping Supervisor

Job Summary: The Housekeeping Staff is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospitals. They are expected to perform a variety of cleaning tasks to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. The Housekeeping Staff should have a strong attention to detail and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Clean and sanitize patient rooms, including changing bed linens, dusting furniture, and disinfecting surfaces. 2. Empty trash and replace garbage bags in patient rooms, common areas, and offices. 3. Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, and showers. 4. Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in patient rooms, hallways, and common areas. 5. Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment. 6. Replenish supplies such as soap, toilet paper, and paper towels in patient rooms and bathrooms. 7. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when supplies need to be replenished. 8. Follow proper infection control procedures to prevent the spread of diseases. 9. Adhere to hospital policies and procedures regarding safety and cleanliness. 10. Respond to housekeeping requests from patients, staff, and visitors in a timely manner. 11. Assist with the setup and breakdown of patient rooms as needed. 12. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients. 13. Attend training sessions and meetings to stay updated on hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience: 1. High school diploma or equivalent. 2. Previous experience in housekeeping or janitorial services preferred. 3. Knowledge of cleaning techniques and procedures. 4. Familiarity with infection control protocols in a healthcare setting. 5. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. 6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 7. Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks and lift heavy objects. 8. Attention to detail and a strong work ethic. 9. Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment. 10. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
