Job Description: Laboratory Technician in Maternal Health Care & Child Health Care Hospitals

Position Summary: The Laboratory Technician plays a crucial role in providing accurate and timely laboratory services in the field of maternal health care and child health care. They are responsible for conducting various laboratory tests, analyzing samples, and assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsibilities and Duties: 1. Inventory management: Monitor and maintain inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and chemicals. Place orders for supplies as needed. 7. Compliance with safety protocols: Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment. Dispose of hazardous materials properly. 8. Collaboration with healthcare professionals: Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and timely laboratory services. Assist in the interpretation of test results and provide necessary information for patient care. 9. Continuous learning: Stay updated with the latest advancements in laboratory techniques, equipment, and procedures. Attend workshops and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.

Qualifications and Experience: 1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field. Additional certifications or specialized training in maternal and child health care laboratory services is preferred. 2. Work experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working as a laboratory technician in a healthcare setting, preferably in maternal and child health care. 3. Knowledge and skills: - Proficient in conducting laboratory tests and operating laboratory equipment. - Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and quality control procedures. - Familiarity with laboratory information systems and data management. - Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting test results. - Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals. - Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
