- Begin the lesson by reviewing the story of the Annunciation and Mary’s visit to Elizabeth from the previous lessons.
- Explain to the students that after Mary visited Elizabeth, she sang a song of praise to God, known as the Magnificat.
- Read the Magnificat (Luke 1:46-55) aloud to the students, emphasizing the words and phrases that show Mary’s gratitude and joy.
- Engage the students in a class discussion about the meaning of the Magnificat. Ask them to think about what Mary was thankful for and why she was praising God.
- Have the students create their own songs or poems of praise, expressing their gratitude for something in their lives. Encourage them to share their creations with the class if they feel comfortable doing so.
