After sorting, have each group share their categories with the class.
Activity 2: Counting (20 minutes): 1. Show the students a picture or flashcard of an animal or object. 2. Ask the students to count and tell you how many legs, arms, head, and body parts they see. 3. Repeat this activity with several different pictures or flashcards, encouraging the students to count and identify the body parts.
Activity 3: Worksheet (30 minutes): 1. Distribute the worksheets to each student. 2. Instruct the students to cut out the pictures of animals and objects and glue them onto the worksheet. 3. Ask the students to count and write the number of legs, arms, head, and body parts for each picture. 4. Encourage the students to use different colors to color the body parts on the pictures. 5. Collect the completed worksheets for assessment.
Game: “Body Part Bingo” (20 minutes): 1. Create a bingo board on the whiteboard or chart paper with different body parts written in each square. 2. Give each student a bingo card with pictures of animals and objects. 3. Call out a body part, and the students must find and cover the corresponding picture on their bingo card. 4. The first student to cover a line or complete the entire bingo card shouts “Bingo!” and wins the game.
Conclusion (10 minutes): 1. Review the different body parts and their corresponding numbers. 2. Ask the students to share one thing they learned about counting legs, arms, head, and body parts. 3. Sing the “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes” song again as a fun way to end the lesson.
Note: The duration of each activity can be adjusted based on the pace and engagement of the students.
