Week 1: Introduction to Voice Acting

Week 3: Character Development and Storytelling

Objective: Develop students’ skills in creating and portraying unique characters and telling stories through their voice.

Activity Suggestions: 1. Character creation: Have students create their own original characters and develop their voices, personalities, and backstories. 2. Storytelling exercises: Assign students short stories or fables and have them practice narrating them with different voices and tones to engage the audience. 3. Dialects and accents: Introduce students to different dialects and accents and have them practice incorporating them into their character voices. 4. Scene study: Assign students scenes from plays or movies and have them analyze the characters’ relationships and objectives, then perform the scenes using appropriate vocal techniques. 5. Radio play production: Divide students into groups and have them create and perform a radio play, including character voices, sound effects, and music.

Week 4: Performance and Reflection

Objective: Provide students with opportunities to showcase their voice acting skills and reflect on their growth throughout the unit.

Activity Suggestions: 1. Showcase performance: Organize a showcase where students can perform their monologues, scenes, or radio plays for an audience. 2. Peer feedback: After each performance, have students provide constructive feedback to their peers, focusing on vocal techniques, character development, and storytelling abilities. 3. Reflection journals: Assign students to write reflection journals, where they can reflect on their growth as voice actors, challenges they faced, and areas for improvement. 4. Voice acting career exploration: Invite a guest speaker who works in the voice acting industry to share their experiences and provide insights into pursuing a career in voice acting. 5. Final project: Assign students a final project where they can showcase their voice acting skills in a self-selected monologue, scene, or voice-over recording. Provide time for rehearsal and feedback before the final presentation.
