Activity: Jesus Loves the Children

Desired Outcome: As I play and learn, I am developing my understanding of what is fair and unfair and the importance of caring for, sharing and cooperating with others.

Curriculum Area: Religious and Moral Education

Curriculum Level: Early Level

Introduction: Begin the activity by introducing the children to the story of Jesus and the children. Explain to them that Jesus loved children and always welcomed them. Ask the children if they know any stories about Jesus and children.

Activity: 1. Jesus Loves Me Song: Sing the song “Jesus Loves Me” with the children. Encourage them to sing along and clap their hands to the beat.

  1. Sharing is Caring: Provide the children with a basket of toys and ask them to share with each other. Explain to them that sharing is caring and it is important to share with others.

  2. Cooperative Play: Divide the children into groups and provide them with a puzzle to solve. Encourage them to work together and help each other to complete the puzzle.

  3. Story Time: Read the story of Jesus and the children to the children. Ask them questions about the story and encourage them to share their thoughts and feelings.

  4. Craft Activity: Provide the children with paper, crayons, and stickers. Ask them to draw a picture of themselves with Jesus. Encourage them to share their pictures with each other.

Conclusion: End the activity by reminding the children that Jesus loves them and wants them to love and care for each other. Encourage them to continue to share, cooperate, and care for each other.
