Activity: Praise God through Sharing and Cooperation

Desired Outcome: As I play and learn, I am developing my understanding of what is fair and unfair and the importance of caring for, sharing and cooperating with others.

Introduction: Begin the activity by gathering the children in a circle and asking them if they know what it means to praise God. Explain that praising God means showing gratitude and appreciation for all the good things in our lives. Ask the children to share some things they are grateful for.

Main Activity: 1. Sharing is Caring: Provide each child with a small bag of treats (e.g. stickers, candies, small toys). Explain that they are going to play a game where they will have to share their treats with each other. Encourage the children to take turns and share their treats with their friends. Emphasize the importance of caring for others and being fair.

  1. Cooperation Challenge: Divide the children into small groups and provide each group with a set of building blocks. Explain that they are going to work together to build a tower using the blocks. Encourage the children to communicate and cooperate with each other to build the tallest tower possible. Emphasize the importance of working together and sharing ideas.

  2. Singing Praises: Teach the children a simple Christian song (e.g. “Jesus Loves Me”). Encourage them to sing along and praise God for all the good things in their lives.

Conclusion: Gather the children back in a circle and ask them to share how they felt about sharing and cooperating with their friends. Emphasize the importance of caring for others and working together. End the activity by singing the Christian song together and thanking God for all the good things in our lives.
