Class: Modal Verbs
Introduction: Modal verbs are a type of auxiliary verbs that express various degrees of possibility, ability, permission, necessity, and obligation. They are used to modify the main verb in a sentence and provide additional information about the action or state of being. In English, there are nine modal verbs: can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, and must.
Examples: 1. Can: I can swim. 2. Could: Could you please pass me the salt? 3. May: May I use your phone? 4. Might: It might rain tomorrow. 5. Shall: Shall we go for a walk? 6. Should: You should eat more vegetables. 7. Will: She will arrive at 8 pm. 8. Would: Would you like some tea? 9. Must: You must complete the assignment by tomorrow.
