  1. Behavior of Chickens Show videos of chicken behavior, including how they communicate with each other, how they move, and how they interact with their environment. Discuss how chickens are social animals and how they form hierarchies within their flocks.

  2. History of Domestication Read books and articles about the history of chicken domestication, including how chickens were first domesticated in Asia over 8,000 years ago and how they spread to other parts of the world. Discuss how chickens have been used for food, eggs, and even cockfighting throughout history.

  3. Importance of Chickens in Human Society Discuss the importance of chickens in human society, including how they provide food and income for many people around the world. Talk about the different breeds of chickens and how they have been selectively bred for different purposes, such as meat production or egg-laying.

Conclusion: Ask students to draw a picture of a chicken and label its different parts. Have them share their drawings with the class and explain what they learned about chickens. Encourage them to think about how chickens are important to their own lives and the world around them.
