Lesson Plan: Time Management

Objective: Students will be able to understand the concept of time management and its importance in achieving goals and reducing stress. They will also be able to identify common time wasters and challenges to time management.

Materials: - Whiteboard and markers - Handouts on time management - Timer - Activity worksheet

Introduction (10 minutes): 1. Begin the lesson by asking students if they have ever felt overwhelmed or stressed because they had too much to do and not enough time to do it. 2. Explain that time management is the process of organizing and planning how much time you spend on different activities to make the most of your time and achieve your goals. 3. Ask students why they think time management is important. Write their responses on the whiteboard.

Discussion (20 minutes): 1. Discuss common time wasters and challenges to time management. Some examples include: - Procrastination - Distractions (e.g. social media, phone notifications) - Poor planning and organization - Multitasking - Lack of prioritization 2. Ask students to share their own experiences with these time wasters and how they have affected their productivity and stress levels. 3. Provide tips and strategies for overcoming these challenges, such as setting priorities, breaking tasks into smaller chunks, and eliminating distractions.

Activity (20 minutes): 1. Distribute the activity worksheet to students. 2. Set a timer for 15 minutes and ask students to list all the tasks they need to complete in the next week. 3. After the timer goes off, ask students to prioritize their tasks based on importance and urgency. 4. Discuss as a class how prioritizing tasks can help with time management and reducing stress.

Conclusion (10 minutes): 1. Review the importance of time management and how it can help achieve goals and reduce stress. 2. Ask students to share one strategy they plan to use to improve their time management skills. 3. Provide handouts on time management for students to take home and review.
