First Class for Hobbyist Guitarists Starting Out on the Guitar

Objective: To provide an introduction to the basics of guitar playing for absolute beginners.

Time: 50 minutes

Activities:

  1. Introduction (5 minutes): Introduce the instructor and the class, discuss the objectives of the class, and answer any questions.

  2. Parts of the Guitar (5 minutes): Explain the different parts of the guitar and how they work together.

  3. Tuning the Guitar (10 minutes): Demonstrate how to tune the guitar and have the students practice tuning their own guitars.

  4. Basic Chords (15 minutes): Demonstrate and explain the most common chords and have the students practice playing them.

  5. Strumming Patterns (10 minutes): Demonstrate and explain basic strumming patterns and have the students practice playing them.

  6. Wrap-up (5 minutes): Answer any remaining questions and provide resources for further learning.
