Level: Second Level

Week 1: Introduction to World War 1

Week 2: Primary Sources

  • Define primary sources and give examples
  • Analyze primary sources related to World War 1, such as letters, diaries, photographs, and newspaper articles
  • Discuss the advantages and limitations of using primary sources

Week 3: Secondary Sources

  • Define secondary sources and give examples
  • Analyze secondary sources related to World War 1, such as textbooks, documentaries, and historical fiction
  • Discuss the advantages and limitations of using secondary sources

Week 4: Selective Research

  • Explain the importance of selective research
  • Demonstrate how to identify relevant information from primary and secondary sources
  • Practice selective research skills by analyzing sources related to World War 1

Week 5: Group Project

  • Divide students into groups
  • Assign each group a specific topic related to World War 1, such as the role of women, propaganda, or trench warfare
  • Instruct students to use primary and secondary sources selectively to research their topic
  • Have each group present their findings to the class
