Objective: Students will be able to identify and explain the different types of energy.

Materials: - Whiteboard - Markers - Handouts with definitions of the different types of energy

Procedure: 1. Begin the lesson by introducing the concept of energy. Explain that energy is the ability to do work and is found in many forms. 2. Ask the students to brainstorm a list of different types of energy they know. Write their answers on the whiteboard. 3. Explain that there are many different types of energy, and that today they will be learning about the most common ones. 4. Pass out the handouts with definitions of the different types of energy. 5. Have the students read the definitions and discuss the different types of energy. 6. Ask the students to explain the differences between the different types of energy. 7. Have the students work in groups to create a poster that explains the different types of energy. 8. Have each group present their poster to the class. 9. Wrap up the lesson by having the students answer a few review questions about the different types of energy.

Assessment: Have the students complete a quiz or worksheet to assess their understanding of the different types of energy.
