Lesson Plan:

Objectives:

• Students will gain knowledge about the history of football • Students will identify famous UK tournaments and their history • Students will complete a quiz to assess their learning

Materials: • PowerPoint presentation • Computer/projector • Short video about the history of football

Procedure:

  1. Introduce the lesson topic to the students. Ask them what they know about the history of football (5 minutes).

  2. Show the students the PowerPoint to introduce the global facts about football and its history (15 minutes).

  3. Show the students the short video about the history of football (5 minutes).

  4. Ask the students questions about the video and discuss any difficulties they had understanding it (10 minutes).

  5. Introduce the students to famous UK tournaments and their history (15 minutes).

  6. Give the students time to complete the quiz at the end of the PowerPoint (10 minutes).

  7. Ask the students questions about their quiz and discuss if they had any difficulty understanding the material (5 minutes).

  8. Wrap up with a discussion about the different tournaments the students have heard of and their history (5 minutes).
