Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to accurately count and recognise coins and notes from £1 to £10.

Materials needed: Coins and notes from £1 to £10.

Warm Up - Begin with a discussion about money. Talk about when students have seen it used and how it is used (e.g. for buying things such as food, clothes, etc).

Main Activity - Show a video about money, such as https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhxTdTfZsG0. - After discussing the video, give each student a set of coins or notes up to £10. - Ask them to line up the coins or notes in order of smallest to largest. - If necessary, explain the value of each coin or note. - Ask them to count the coins or notes and tell you the total value. - As a group, come up with some activities that involve working with money such as ordering items from cheapest to most expensive, or adding coins to a given amount.

Conclusion - Check in with each student to make sure they understand how to count and recognise coins and notes from £1 to £10. - Recap the activities they have done and remind them of the valuable they learned.

Evaluation - Ask each student to answer the following questions individually: 1. Name the coins or notes that make up a total of £3 2. Name the coins or notes that make up a total of £5 3. Give four examples of things that you can buy with money
