For example, if I say the word “banana”, you would say “ba-NA-na”. We will take turns saying words and identifying the stressed syllable. This game will help you practice identifying word stress and get you ready for the while-part activity.
WHILE-PART Activity: For the while-part activity, we will watch a video about word stress. The video is called “Word Stress in English: What is it and why is it important?” and it explains the importance of word stress and how to identify it. After watching the video, we will complete a worksheet called “Word Stress Practice”. The worksheet has a list of words and you will need to identify which syllable is stressed. This activity will help you practice identifying word stress in different words.
