Procedure:

  1. Introduction (5 minutes)

  2. Understanding the Structure of an Essay (10 minutes)
    • Explain the basic structure of an essay: introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion.

  3. Developing a Strong Thesis Statement (10 minutes)

    • Provide examples of effective thesis statements.
    • Engage students in a discussion to generate potential thesis statements for a given topic.
  4. Organizing Thoughts and Ideas (15 minutes)
    • Introduce the concept of an outline and its importance in organizing thoughts before writing.
    • Demonstrate how to create an outline using a sample essay topic.
    • Allow students to practice creating their own outlines for a given topic.
  5. Writing the Essay (20 minutes)
    • Explain the importance of an engaging introduction to capture the reader’s attention.

    • Provide guidance on writing a strong conclusion that summarizes the main points.
