Introduction:

Welcome everyone! Today’s lesson plan focuses on Grammar, specifically tenses. We will review the past, present and future tenses and then practice using specific vocabulary words.

Activity Outline:

  1. Start with a pre-test: Ask the students to identify the past, present and future tense for five words.
  2. Introduce the concept: Go over the different tenses and the rules for identifying them.
  3. Group discussion: Ask the students to come up with five words of their own and identify the tense that the words will be in.
  4. Writing Practice: Ask the students to write out complete sentences using five past, present and future tenses.
  5. Post-test: Ask the students to identify the past, present and future tense for five words.

Questioning:

  1. What is the difference between the past, present and future tenses?
  2. Can you give an example of a sentence in the past tense?
  3. What words do we typically use to identify the future tense?

Assessment:

  1. Monitor progress throughout the lesson plan.
  2. Use the pre-test and post-test as a way to track comprehension.

Differentiation:

  1. Provide individualized instruction to students who might require extra assistance or additional guidance.
  2. Provide additional support for students who may not understand the concept

Plenary:

To end the lesson, test the students comprehension one more time. Ask them to come up with five words, identify the tense and then write out complete sentences.
