Objective: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to define mental illness, explain possible causes for mental illness, and identify different types of mental illness.

Procedure:

Introduction (10 minutes) a. Begin the lesson by asking students if they have ever heard of mental illness and what they think it means. b. Write down their responses on the board. c. Explain that mental illness refers to a wide range of conditions that affect a person’s thinking, emotions, behavior, and overall well-being. d. Share that mental illnesses are common and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or background.
