Title: Introduction to Entrepreneurship

Grade Level: High School

Objective: Students will be able to define entrepreneurship, identify characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, and understand the importance of entrepreneurship in society.

Materials: - Whiteboard and markers - Handouts with definitions and examples of entrepreneurship - Video clips of successful entrepreneurs - Computer and projector for video clips

Procedure:

I. Introduction (10 minutes) - Greet students and introduce the topic of entrepreneurship. - Ask students if they know what entrepreneurship is and if they can name any successful entrepreneurs.

II. Defining Entrepreneurship (20 minutes) - Provide students with handouts that define entrepreneurship and give examples of successful entrepreneurs. - Ask students to read the handouts and highlight key terms and phrases. - Discuss the definitions and examples as a class, and ask students to share their own thoughts and experiences with entrepreneurship.

III. Characteristics of Successful Entrepreneurs (30 minutes) - Show video clips of successful entrepreneurs and ask students to identify the characteristics that make them successful. - Write down the characteristics on the whiteboard as students share their ideas. - Discuss the characteristics as a class and ask students to reflect on their own strengths and weaknesses in relation to these characteristics.

IV. Importance of Entrepreneurship (20 minutes) - Discuss the importance of entrepreneurship in society, including job creation, innovation, and economic growth. - Ask students to brainstorm ways in which entrepreneurship can benefit their own communities. - Encourage students to think about how they can use their own skills and interests to become entrepreneurs in the future.

V. Conclusion (10 minutes) - Summarize the key points of the lesson and ask students to share their own takeaways. - Provide students with additional resources for learning more about entrepreneurship, such as books, websites, and local business organizations.

Assessment: - Students will be assessed based on their participation in class discussions and their ability to identify and explain the characteristics of successful entrepreneurs. - Students may also be asked to complete a short writing assignment reflecting on the importance of entrepreneurship in their own lives and communities.
