Introduction: Begin the lesson by asking the children if they know what sound is and what different sounds they can hear. Explain that sound is something we hear with our ears and that there are many different sounds around us.

Lesson Outline: 1. Start by playing a variety of sounds for the children to listen to, such as animal sounds, musical instruments, and environmental sounds like rain or traffic. 2. Ask the children to identify the different sounds they hear and encourage them to describe what they are hearing. 3. Introduce the concept of high and low sounds by playing different musical notes and asking the children to identify which ones are high and which ones are low. 4. Use body percussion to explore different sounds, such as clapping, tapping, and stomping. 5. Finish the lesson by playing a game where the children have to identify different sounds and match them to pictures or objects.

Questioning: - What sounds can you hear? - Can you describe the sound you are hearing? - Which sound is high and which is low? - Can you make a sound with your body?

Assessment: Observe the children as they listen to and identify different sounds. Use questioning to assess their understanding of high and low sounds and their ability to make different sounds with their bodies.

Differentiation: For children who may struggle with identifying sounds, provide visual aids such as pictures or objects to match the sounds to. For children who are more advanced, challenge them to create their own sounds using different instruments or objects.

Plenary: Review the different sounds the children heard and ask them to share their favorite sound from the lesson. Encourage them to continue listening for different sounds in their everyday lives.
