Encourage creativity and remind students to think about different animals they have seen or heard of.

  3. Group Research (15 minutes): a. Assign each group a different animal to research. Provide them with index cards to write down their findings. b. Allow students to use the internet or library resources to gather information about their assigned animal. c. Instruct the groups to focus on the physical features of the animal from head to bottom. d. Encourage students to find information about the animal’s head, neck, body, legs, and tail.

Ask students to reflect on what they have learned about describing an animal from head to bottom. c. Summarize the main points discussed during the lesson and emphasize the importance of teamwork and collaboration.

Extensions: - Students can create their own animal fact sheets, including drawings and descriptions of the animal’s physical features. - Students can compare and contrast the body parts of different animals, focusing on adaptations and functions. - Students can create a class book or display showcasing the animals they researched and described.

Assessment: - Observe students’ participation and engagement during group work and presentations. - Review the index cards written by each group to assess their understanding of describing an animal from head to bottom. - Evaluate students’ ability to communicate effectively and use appropriate vocabulary when describing the animal’s physical features.
