Recognize the importance of having a good title for a story, poem, etc.

Materials: - Whiteboard or blackboard - Markers or chalk - Handouts with exercises - Objects for describing activity - Examples of stories, poems, etc.

Warm-up (10 minutes): 1. Greet the students and engage them in a short conversation about their day or any interesting events. 2. Play a quick vocabulary game, where students take turns describing an object without mentioning its name, and the others guess what it is. This will activate their descriptive skills and vocabulary.

Past Perfect Continuous Tense (25 minutes): 1. Introduce the concept of the past perfect continuous tense using visual aids and examples on the board. 2. Explain the formation and usage of the tense, emphasizing that it is used to describe an ongoing action that happened before another past action. 3. Provide examples and ask students to create their own sentences using the past perfect continuous tense. 4. Distribute handouts with exercises for practice. Monitor and provide assistance as needed.

Finding the Right Word (25 minutes): 1. Introduce the activity by explaining that sometimes we struggle to find the right word to describe something. 2. Show a few objects to the class and ask students to describe them using adjectives. Encourage them to think creatively and use their imagination. 3. Divide the class into pairs or small groups and give each group a different object. 4. In their groups, students should take turns describing the object without mentioning its name. The others must guess the object based on the description. 5. After each group has finished, discuss the difficulty of finding the right word and encourage students to ask for help when needed.

Suffixes -er and -or (20 minutes): 1. Explain that suffixes are added to the end of words to change their meaning or function. 2. Focus on the suffixes -er and -or, which are used to indicate a person who performs a particular action or has a particular job. 3. Provide examples of words with these suffixes and ask students to identify the pattern and meaning. 4. Distribute handouts with exercises where students need to add the correct suffix to complete the words. Review the answers as a class.

Importance of Having a Good Title (10 minutes): 1. Show examples of stories, poems, or articles with different titles. 2. Discuss the importance of a good title in capturing the reader’s attention and setting the tone for the piece. 3. Ask students to share their favorite titles and explain why they find them interesting. 4. In pairs or small groups, have students brainstorm and create titles for their own stories, poems, or articles. Encourage creativity and originality. 5. Ask a few students to share their titles with the class and explain their choices.

Wrap-up (5 minutes): 1. Recap the main points covered in the lesson, including the past perfect continuous tense, finding the right word, suffixes -er and -or, and the importance of having a good title. 2. Answer any remaining questions and provide feedback on students’ performance. 3. Assign homework, such as writing a short story using the past perfect continuous tense and an interesting title.

Note: Adjust the timing of each activity based on the pace and needs of your students.
