Lesson Plan: Art and Design with ICT
Topic: Art and Design
Desired Outcome: I have continued to experiment with a range of media and technologies, handling them with control and assurance to create images and objects. I can apply my understanding of the properties of media and of techniques to specific tasks.
Level: Fourth Level
Introduction:
- Begin the lesson by asking the students what they know about art and design. Ask them to share their favorite art pieces and what they like about them.
- Introduce the topic of using ICT in art class and explain how it can enhance their creativity and help them create unique art pieces.
Main Activity:
- Provide the students with a range of media and technologies such as digital cameras, tablets, and software like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
- Ask the students to choose a theme or subject for their art piece and experiment with different media and technologies to create their artwork.
- Encourage the students to apply their understanding of the properties of media and techniques to specific tasks. For example, they can use different brush strokes or filters in Photoshop to create different effects.
- Provide guidance and support to the students as they work on their art pieces. Encourage them to ask questions and share their ideas with their peers.
Conclusion:
- Once the students have completed their art pieces, ask them to share their work with the class. Encourage them to explain their creative process and how they used ICT to enhance their artwork.
- Reflect on the lesson with the students and ask them what they learned about using ICT in art class. Ask them how they can apply their new skills and knowledge in future art projects.
Assessment:
- Assess the students’ artwork based on their creativity, use of media and technologies, and application of techniques.
- Provide feedback to the students on their strengths and areas for improvement.
- Encourage the students to reflect on their own work and identify areas where they can improve in future art projects.
