Lesson Plan: Les Activités Quotidiennes (French A1 Level)

Introduction: - Greet the students and introduce the topic of the lesson: “Aujourd’hui, nous allons parler des activités quotidiennes en français” (Today, we are going to talk about daily activities in French). - Ask the students if they can name any daily activities in French that they already know. - Explain the importance of learning vocabulary related to daily activities to be able to communicate about one’s routine.

Keywords: - Present and explain the keywords related to daily activities in French, such as: - Se réveiller (to wake up) - Se lever (to get up) - Se laver (to wash oneself) - Prendre le petit-déjeuner (to have breakfast) - Aller à l’école (to go to school) - Faire les devoirs (to do homework) - Regarder la télévision (to watch television) - Dîner (to have dinner) - Se coucher (to go to bed)

Lesson Outline: 1. Warm-up activity: Ask the students to share their morning routine in French. Encourage them to use the keywords they have just learned. 2. Presentation: Display a visual or a list of daily activities in French on the board. Pronounce each activity and ask the students to repeat after you. Emphasize correct pronunciation. 3. Vocabulary practice: Provide the students with a worksheet or flashcards containing the keywords. Ask them to match the French words with their English translations. 4. Speaking practice: Divide the students into pairs or small groups. Give them a set of picture cards representing different daily activities. Ask them to take turns describing the activities in French using the keywords. Monitor their conversations and provide assistance when needed. 5. Listening activity: Play an audio recording or show a short video clip depicting a daily routine. Ask the students to listen/watch carefully and write down the activities they hear/see. Replay the recording if necessary. 6. Questioning: Ask the students questions about their own daily routines using the keywords. For example, “À quelle heure te réveilles-tu ?” (What time do you wake up?) or “Qu’est-ce que tu fais après l’école ?” (What do you do after school?). Encourage them to respond in complete sentences. 7. Differentiation: Provide additional support for struggling students by giving them a simplified version of the vocabulary list or allowing them to work with a partner during the speaking practice. 8. Plenary: Recap the lesson by asking a few students to share their daily routines in French with the class. Encourage the other students to ask questions based on the shared information.

Note: Throughout the lesson, make sure to provide clear explanations, model correct pronunciation, and encourage active participation from all students.
