Duration: 45 minutes

Learning Objectives:

  • Students will be able to identify different sources of food.
  • Students will be able to explain the importance of eating a variety of foods.
  • Students will be able to use digital devices to access and interact with digital content related to sources of food.

Materials:

  • Digital devices (e.g. tablets, laptops, smartphones)
  • Internet access
  • Digital content (e.g. videos, images, interactive games) related to sources of food
  • Whiteboard and markers
  • Handouts (optional)

Procedure:

  1. Introduction (5 minutes)
  • Greet the students and introduce the topic of sources of food.
  • Ask the students if they know where their food comes from and what types of food they eat.
  • Explain that today’s lesson will focus on different sources of food and why it’s important to eat a variety of foods.
  1. Digital Content Exploration (20 minutes)
  • Divide the students into small groups and provide each group with a digital device.
  • Instruct the students to access the digital content related to sources of food.
  • Encourage the students to explore the content and interact with it (e.g. watch videos, play games, look at images).
  • Circulate around the room and assist students as needed.
  1. Group Discussion (10 minutes)
  • Bring the students back together as a group and ask them to share what they learned from the digital content.
  • Ask the students to identify different sources of food they learned about (e.g. fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, meat).
  • Discuss the importance of eating a variety of foods from different sources to get all the nutrients our bodies need.
  1. Activity (10 minutes)
  • Distribute handouts (optional) with pictures of different foods.
  • Instruct the students to sort the foods into different categories based on their sources (e.g. fruits, vegetables, grains, dairy, meat).
  • Encourage the students to work together and discuss their choices.
  1. Conclusion (5 minutes)
  • Review the different sources of food and why it’s important to eat a variety of foods.
  • Thank the students for their participation and encourage them to continue learning about nutrition and hygiene.

Assessment:

  • Observe the students during the digital content exploration and group discussion to assess their understanding of different sources of food.
  • Evaluate the students’ handouts to assess their ability to sort foods into different categories based on their sources.
