Lesson:

  1. Introduction and goal setting (5 minutes): Begin the lesson by introducing the concept of will power and where it comes from. Discuss how we can use our will power to take control of our lives and achieve our goals. Ask students to come up with one area in their lives where they would like to exercise more will power.

  2. Exploring the concept of will power (15 minutes): Go into more detail about the concept of will power. Talk about some benefits of having strong will power, including increased self-control, improved mental and emotional resilience, and the ability to make better decisions. Discuss various ways we can exercise our will power, such as goal-setting and visualization.

  3. Demonstrating will power (20 minutes): Show students examples of successful people who have exhibited strengths in their will power. This could include figures such as Mahatma Gandhi or Martin Luther King Jr. using their will power to achieve great things. Present a relevant article or video clip which demonstrates will power in action, and lead a discussion about the insights the students have gained.

  4. Understanding our own will power (15 minutes): Help the students to get in touch with their own desire to exercise will power and push themselves to reach their goals. Ask them to think about the area of their lives they identified earlier, and encourage them to brainstorm strategies for exercising their will power in that area. Ask each student to come up with a specific goal they will aim for which uses the will power they have identified.

  5. Conclusion (5 minutes): End the lesson by summarizing the key points about understanding and using will power and how it can help each of us reach our goals. Invite students to share any successes they experience by using techniques they have learned in the lesson.
