ENTRYTING

Introduction: Good morning class, today we are going to be talking about proper nouns. Can anyone tell me what a noun is? (Allow the students to answer)

Great, so today we are going to be talking about a specific type of noun, which are called proper nouns. Proper nouns are nouns that name specific people, places and things. Does anyone have an example of a proper noun? (Allow the students to answer)

Lesson Outline: 1. Introduce what a proper noun is 2. Provide examples of proper nouns 3. Have the students brainstorm a list of proper nouns 4. Have the students practice identifying proper nouns

Questioning: Throughout the lesson there will be opportunities for question and answer throughout.

Assessment: At the end of the lesson, I will have the students complete a worksheet where they identify the proper nouns in the given sentences.

Differentiation: For students who may be struggling, I will provide them with the list of proper nouns that we created in step 3. I may also provide sentence frames for them to fill in with the proper nouns.
