Introduction (10 minutes): 1. Begin the lesson by asking students how they feel when they meet someone new for the first time. Write their responses on the whiteboard or flipchart. 2. Explain that meeting new people can be exciting but also a bit nerve-wracking. Today, we will focus on strategies to help us feel more comfortable when meeting our new teacher for the first time.

Activity 1: Icebreaker - “Find a Friend” (15 minutes): 1. Divide the class into pairs or small groups. 2. Provide each student with a slip of paper or index card. 3. Instruct students to write down one interesting fact about themselves on the paper. 4. Once everyone has written their fact, have students stand up and mingle around the classroom, trying to find a partner or group member who has a similar or interesting fact. 5. Encourage students to introduce themselves, share their facts, and ask follow-up questions to get to know each other better. 6. After a few minutes, bring the class back together and ask a few students to share something interesting they learned about their partner or group member.

Activity 2: Tips for Meeting New People (15 minutes): 1. Distribute the handout “Tips for Meeting New People” to each student. 2. Discuss the tips listed on the handout, emphasizing the importance of being open-minded, friendly, and respectful when meeting new people. 3. Encourage students to share any personal experiences they have had when meeting new people and how they applied these tips. 4. Facilitate a class discussion on the benefits of making new friends and being part of a group in various situations, such as school, extracurricular activities, or community events.

Conclusion (10 minutes): 1. Recap the main points discussed during the lesson, emphasizing the importance of valuing opportunities to make friends and be part of a group. 2. Ask students to reflect on how they can apply the tips for meeting new people when they meet their new teacher for the first time. 3. Provide an opportunity for students to ask any questions or share any concerns they may have about meeting their new teacher or making new friends. 4. End the lesson by expressing confidence in their ability to make a positive impression and build new relationships.
