Desired Outcome: I recognise that we have similarities and differences but are all unique.

Lesson Objectives: 1. To understand the concept of uniqueness and how it applies to individuals. 2. To recognize and appreciate similarities and differences among individuals. 3. To develop empathy and respect for others’ uniqueness. 4. To understand that everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and fairness.

Prior Knowledge: Students should have a basic understanding of relationships, families, and the concept of similarities and differences.

Resources: 1. Picture books or short videos showcasing diverse characters and their unique qualities. 2. Large chart paper or whiteboard. 3. Markers. 4. Worksheets or activity sheets (optional).

Lesson Duration: 45 minutes

Lesson Plan:

Introduction (5 minutes): 1. Begin the lesson by asking students what makes them unique or special. 2. Discuss their responses and emphasize that everyone is unique in their own way. 3. Explain that today’s lesson will focus on recognizing and appreciating our uniqueness.

Activity 1: Similarities and Differences (15 minutes): 1. Show pictures or videos featuring diverse characters and their unique qualities. 2. Engage students in a discussion about the similarities and differences they observe. 3. Write down their responses on the chart paper or whiteboard, categorizing them into similarities and differences. 4. Encourage students to share their own unique qualities and experiences.

Activity 2: Embracing Uniqueness (15 minutes): 1. Distribute worksheets or activity sheets (if available) that prompt students to draw or write about their unique qualities. 2. Allow students time to complete the activity individually or in pairs. 3.
