Lesson Plan: Cultural Comparisons in Spanish
Objective: Students will be able to identify and make simple comparisons between typical cultural products and practices to help understand perspectives in native and other cultures, such as meals, grocery shopping, food trends, rooms in a house, use of space, and size of appliances.
Materials: - Pictures of typical meals, grocery stores, and kitchens from different cultures - Vocabulary list of food and household items in Spanish - Worksheet for comparing cultural practices
Warm-up (10 minutes): - Review vocabulary list of food and household items in Spanish - Ask students to share their favorite meal and describe the ingredients and preparation process - Discuss how different cultures have different food traditions and practices
Introduction (10 minutes): - Show pictures of typical meals, grocery stores, and kitchens from different cultures - Ask students to identify the differences and similarities between the pictures - Discuss how cultural practices can reflect different values and perspectives
