Lesson Plan:
Introduction (10 minutes): 1. Begin the lesson by discussing the importance of listening and talking skills in communication. 2. Explain to the students that today, they will learn how to create texts of their choice by selecting subjects, purpose, format, and resources. 3. Display the desired outcome on the board and explain what it means in simple terms.
Activity 1: Selecting Subjects (10 minutes): 1. Show the students a variety of picture cards or objects representing different subjects (e.g., animals, sports, food, etc.). 2. Ask each student to choose one subject that they find interesting or would like to talk about. 3. Discuss the chosen subjects as a class, allowing students to share their reasons for selecting them.
Activity 2: Identifying Purpose and Format (15 minutes): 1. Introduce the concept of purpose and format by explaining that texts can have different goals and be presented in various ways. 2. Display a chart paper with different purposes written on it (e.g., inform, entertain, persuade). 3. Discuss each purpose and provide examples of formats that can be used to achieve them (e.g., writing a letter, creating a comic strip, making a poster). 4. Ask the students to think about the purpose of their chosen subject and the format they would like to use to create their text. 5. Provide individual or small group support as needed.
Activity 3: Selecting Resources (15 minutes): 1. Introduce the concept of resources by explaining that they are the materials or tools needed to create a text. 2. Show the students a variety of storybooks or picture books related to their chosen subjects. 3. Conclusion (5 minutes): 1. Ask a few students to share their created texts with the class, explaining their subject, purpose, format, and resources used. 2.
