Level: Early
Introduction (10 minutes)
- Greet the students and introduce the topic of the lesson: Writing with English Verbs.
- Ask the students if they know what a verb is and give examples of verbs (e.g. run, jump, eat).
- Explain that today, we will learn about the past tense and future tense of English verbs.
Body (30 minutes)
- Show the students a list of regular verbs in their present, past, and future tenses (e.g. walk, walked, will walk).
- Explain that when we talk about something that happened in the past, we use the past tense of the verb. When we talk about something that will happen in the future, we use the future tense of the verb.
- Give examples of sentences using the past and future tenses of the verbs (e.g. Yesterday, I walked to the park. Tomorrow, I will walk to the store).
- Ask the students to come up with their own sentences using the past and future tenses of the verbs.
- Have the students practice writing sentences using the past and future tenses of the verbs.
Conclusion (10 minutes)
- Review the lesson by asking the students to share what they learned about the past and future tenses of English verbs.
- Ask the students to write a short paragraph using the past and future tenses of the verbs.
- Collect the students’ work and provide feedback.
