Title: Introduction to eBinders

Procedure:

  1. Introduction (10 minutes) a. Begin the lesson by asking students if they have ever used a physical binder to organize their schoolwork. b. Explain that an eBinder is a digital version of a physical binder, where students can store and organize their documents electronically. c. Discuss the benefits of using eBinders, such as easy access, reduced paper usage, and the ability to search for specific documents quickly.

  2. Exploring eBinders (15 minutes) a. Show students sample eBinder templates or screenshots on the projector or smartboard. b. Discuss the different sections or tabs that can be created in an eBinder, such as subjects, projects, or assignments. c. Explain that within each section, students can create folders or subfolders to further organize their documents. d. Emphasize the importance of naming folders and documents clearly for easy retrieval.

  3. Creating an eBinder (20 minutes) a. Provide each student with a computer or tablet and handouts with step-by-step instructions for creating an eBinder. b. Guide students through the process of signing up for an eBinder platform or using a recommended app. c. Demonstrate how to create sections, folders, and subfolders within the eBinder. d. Encourage students to create a section for each subject they are studying and folders for assignments, notes, and resources within each subject.

  4. Organizing Documents (15 minutes) a. Instruct students to gather digital documents they already have, such as assignments, notes, or worksheets. b. Guide students in uploading these documents into their eBinders, organizing them into the appropriate sections, folders, and subfolders. c. Discuss the importance of maintaining an organized eBinder and regularly updating it with new documents.

  5. Reflection and Discussion (10 minutes) a. Ask students to reflect on the benefits of using eBinders compared to physical binders. b. Facilitate a class discussion on how eBinders can improve organization, productivity, and collaboration among students. c. Encourage students to share any challenges they faced during the process and brainstorm solutions as a class.

  6. Conclusion (5 minutes) a. Summarize the key points discussed during the lesson. b. Remind students to regularly update and maintain their eBinders throughout the school year. c. Provide additional resources or websites where students can find more information or tutorials on using eBinders.
