Hi Class 3! Welcome to our lesson today! We’re going to be talking about proper nouns. Proper nouns are special words which name specific people, places and things. Do you know what a proper noun is? Well, let’s learn all about it!

Lesson Outline

-What is a proper noun and why is it important -Different types of proper nouns: - People - Places - Animals - Things - Identifying proper nouns in sentences

Questioning -Let’s practice together. Can you tell me the proper nouns in these sentences? -The boy went to the store. -The dog ran around the park. -The teacher gave the students an assignment. - Can you think of examples of people, places, animals and things?

Assessment

-Students can click and drag the proper nouns in sentences.

Differentiation

-For students who need more assistance, use pictures and visuals to help identify examples of proper nouns. -For more advanced students, have them create a few sentences and identify the proper nouns in them.

Plenary
