Introduction: Today we are going to learn about Proper Nouns! Proper Nouns refer to specific people, things, and places. For example, a person’s name or a place name. (Show examples of proper nouns such as people’s names, places, and businesses).
Lesson Outline:
- Introduce what a proper noun is and how it differs from other nouns
- Review how to spell and capitalize proper nouns
- Go through a few examples of proper nouns - provide examples in the form of pictures
- Give children the opportunity to create their own examples of proper nouns
- Allow children to complete the worksheets provided
