Introduction: Today we are going to learn about Proper Nouns! Proper Nouns refer to specific people, things, and places. For example, a person’s name or a place name. (Show examples of proper nouns such as people’s names, places, and businesses).

Lesson Outline:

  1. Introduce what a proper noun is and how it differs from other nouns
  2. Review how to spell and capitalize proper nouns
  3. Go through a few examples of proper nouns - provide examples in the form of pictures
  4. Give children the opportunity to create their own examples of proper nouns
  5. Allow children to complete the worksheets provided

Questioning: - What is a proper noun? - How do you differentiate propriety nouns from other nouns? - What are some examples of proper nouns?

Assessment: - Teacher-led questioning - Allowing children to recognize and create proper nouns
