Introduction (5 minutes)
Start off the lesson by introducing proper nouns with real-life examples. Provide an introduction as to why they are important, such as knowing how to use them correctly in sentences and writing.
Lesson Outline (25 minutes)

Start off with a short review of the definition of a noun and its purpose.

Ask the children to come up with examples of nouns and ask them to identify which are common nouns and which are proper nouns.

Demonstrate the differences between a common noun and a proper noun, including the use of capitalization for proper nouns. Show a few examples of proper nouns in sentences and ask the children to identify them.

Lead a brief discussion on why capitalization is important for proper nouns and have the children provide examples of when they should be used.

Allow the students to practice with some worksheets.
