Introduction:

Welcome to our lesson on proper nouns! Today we will learn what proper nouns are and how to use them correctly.

Lesson Outline:

  1. Explain what a proper noun is. (A proper noun is a specific name or title of a person, place, or thing. It is always capitalized)

  2. Have the students give examples of proper nouns.

  3. Create a chart on the board with two columns. One column should be labeled, “Proper Nouns,” and the other should be labeled, “Common Nouns.”

  4. Have the students give examples of both types of nouns and fill in the chart.
