Assessment
Ask the students to work in pairs to create a story using only proper nouns. Have the students share their stories with the group.
Differentiation
Gifted & Talented: Have the students create a more complicated story with more proper nouns.
Lower Ability: Give the students a worksheet with sentences that have proper nouns. Have them identify the proper nouns and circle them. (e.g. Worksheet: https://www.k12reader.com/worksheet/proper-nouns-2/ )
Plenary
Review what the students have learned so far about proper nouns. Discuss some real-life examples of proper nouns. For example, the students’ names, the city they live in, a popular sports team etc.
