Introduction: The goal of this lesson is to introduce the concept of proper nouns in a way that is both fun and informative. To begin, we will look at some examples of proper nouns, discuss why they’re important, and then practice identifying them and using them correctly in sentences.

Lesson Outline: • Introduce examples of proper nouns (e.g., name of a person, place, brand, title, etc.) • Explain why proper nouns are important • Show videos and/or go over worksheets that illustrate examples of proper nouns • Have children practice identifying and using proper nouns in sentences

Questioning: • What is a proper noun? • Can you give an example of a proper noun? • How do you identify a proper noun in a sentence? • What are some of the rules for using proper nouns correctly?

Assessment: The children will be assessed through observation, probing questions, and a worksheet assessment.

Differentiation: For advanced learners, additional activities may be provided and more challenging questions may be asked.

For students who need more support, additional examples of proper nouns may be provided, and visuals may be used to help explain the concept.

Plenary: Recap the key points from the lesson and ask the children to explain how they could use proper nouns in their writing. Encourage them to use proper nouns when writing stories or completing other written tasks.
