Introduction: Welcome the children and introduce them to the lesson topic. Explain that proper nouns are special words that we use to refer to and name specific people, places, and things. Examples include, “America,” “Harry Potter,” and “the Grand Canyon.”

Lesson Outline: - Explain that a proper noun is a noun that designates a particular person, place, thing, or idea. - Demonstrate and practice proper nouns. - Practice identifying proper nouns. - Assign the students a worksheet on naming proper nouns.

Questioning: - Ask students why a proper noun is used. - Ask students to explain what a proper noun is. - Ask students to identify examples of proper nouns.

Assessment: Assess the students’ understanding of proper nouns by having them complete the worksheet. Have them also take a quiz with multiple choice questions.

Differentiation: Provide extended activities to those who are advanced, and provide those who are struggling extra practice worksheets.

Plenary: Review the key points of the lesson by playing a short game or watching a short video. Afterwards, ask the children to summarise the definition of a proper noun and several examples.
