Lesson Plan: Animals and Their Different Parts
Grade: Primary 3 (ages 7-8)
Objectives: 1. All students will be able to identify and name different parts of animals. 2. Most students will be able to explain the functions of different animal parts. 3. Some students will be able to compare and contrast the different parts of animals.
Starter: Show the students pictures of different animals and ask them to identify the parts they already know. Write their responses on the board.
Cross-Curricular Link: This lesson integrates Science and English Language Arts.
Introduction: 1. Engage the students by asking them questions about animals and their body parts. 2. Show a short video clip about animal body parts to capture their interest and provide a visual introduction. Lesson Outline: 1. Discuss the importance of animals’ body parts and how they help them survive in their habitats. 2. Introduce and explain the different parts of animals, such as head, body, legs, wings, tail, beak, etc. 3. Show pictures of various animals and ask the students to identify and name the different parts of each animal. 4. Discuss the functions of each body part and how they help animals in their daily activities. 5. Provide examples and encourage students to share their own observations about animals’ body parts.
