Objectives:

1. Explain the concept of artificial intelligence
2. Explore how artificial intelligence is used in the world

Materials

• Computers or tablets (1 per group of 3-4 students)
• Presentation slides
• Examples of artificial intelligence in action

Time Frame:

1 hour

Procedure:

1. Introduction (10 minutes): - Explain the concept of artificial intelligence to the students - Demonstrate examples of artificial intelligence in action - Ask students to give examples of how they think artificial intelligence is being used

2. Small Group Discussion (20 minutes):

• Divide students into groups of 3-4
• Allow students to explore examples of how artificial intelligence is being used in the world
• Examples could include machine translation, facial recognition, self-driving cars, or smart home technology
• Each group should brainstorm a list of how artificial intelligence is being used

1. Presentations (15 minutes):

• Have each group share their list with the class
• Ask students to compare and contrast the different examples of artificial intelligence

1. Closing (15 minutes):

• Ask student to reflect upon what they have learned
• Ask if any student has questions
• Discuss any misconceptions that have arisen throughout the course of the discussion
• Emphasize the importance of understanding and being aware of artificial intelligence
