Introduction (5 minutes): 1. Greet the students and introduce the topic of the lesson: Change of Matter. 2. Show a short video clip or images of different states of matter (solid, liquid, gas) and ask students to identify them. 3. Engage students in a brief discussion about what they already know about matter and its different states.

Lesson Outline: 1. States of Matter (10 minutes): a. Explain the three states of matter: solid, liquid, and gas. b. Provide examples of each state and ask students to give their own examples. c. Write down the examples on the board or chart paper.

  1. Changing Matter (15 minutes): a. Introduce the concept of changing matter from one state to another. b. Discuss the processes of changing matter:
    • Melting: solid to liquid
    • Freezing: liquid to solid
    • Evaporation: liquid to gas
    • Condensation: gas to liquid c. Show a video explaining these processes or use visual aids to demonstrate each process. d. Engage students in a discussion about real-life examples of these processes.
  2. Questioning and Assessment (10 minutes): a. Ask students questions to assess their understanding:
    • What are the three states of matter?
    • Can you give an example of each state?
    • How does matter change from one state to another? b. Use the provided worksheet (link below) to assess students’ understanding of changing matter.

Differentiation: 1. For students who need additional support: - Provide visual aids or manipulatives to help them understand the concept. - Simplify the language used during the lesson. - Provide extra examples and explanations.
